Ayman is responsible for the development and implementation of UITP’s service and research program in the Middle East and North Africa region. He serves a membership base of transport authorities, operators, industry, and consulting. He oversees the flagship MENA Transport Congress and Exhibit which takes place every two years to address the region’s priority topics. Ayman is also involved in UITP’s capacity building program and teaches training on topics related to mobility and public transport.
Prior to joining UITP, Ayman acted as the Executive Director of Transport and Traffic Management at the Greater Amman Municipality, directly responsible for the development and implementation of transportation policy and programs in Amman. He worked as liaison with international organizations, including the World Bank, AFD, EBRD and the C40 program. Ayman holds a Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering from Iowa State University (USA); an M.S. in Civil Engineering – Transportation Systems from the University of Oklahoma (USA); and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Jordan. He was selected in 2008 as a Fulbright Scholar.
