    Trial approach of station congestion estimation

    he purpose is to estimate the congestion of stations using existing data. Trains and stations are crowded in Japan. It is important for the dispatcher to grasp the congestion. We could visualize the congestion of the train by weight sensor, but could not grasp the congestion of the station. We tried to make a tool to estimate the congestion of the station by combining the delay data of the train and past ride data. In this tool, we estimated by loading weight data, delay data, and ticket gate data. From these data, we calculated congestion at each place of the station. We verified accuracy of the numerical value. We found an error of 10% to 60%. With this level of error, we can use the tool for business use. We hope to continue our research and make estimations in various situations.
