Sini Puntanen in is charge of strategy and its implementing process in HSL as well as the long term, strategic transport system plan in Helsinki region. She is strengthening the strategic view in public transport authority to fulfill the goals of new public transport era. Puntanen works closely with land use planners and has a lot of co-operation with the municipalities and government.
Puntanen has a ten year experience in a public transport authority. Earlier she worked for government, mostly with infrastructure and transport policy. She is graduated from Tampere University of Technology in 1996, specialized in traffic and transportation engineering.
Her special interest is how public transport and the whole transport system is managed and financed, how the modes fit together and how the goals, policies and decisions are made in wider societal framework.
