Emanuele Proia obtained a degree in Economics from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” with a specialization in Public Finance. After gaining experience as an economist for IC( Italian Institute of Foreign Affairs) he earned a Master’s in Business and Administration with a specific specialisation in Public Transport Systems and Management of PT companies. He has also worked for APTA (American Public Transport Association). He has worked at ASSTRA since 2003, since 2009 he is charge of the Economic, Financial and Statistical Department, since 2016 he is General Manager of ASSTRA. He is a member of the Economic Commission of UITP. He has also carried out several research studies about public transport and he coordinated different working group of the association related with fares, fraud, cost structure, financing and social responsibility. He is also the author of a part of the deliverable for EBSF WP 3.3. He has participated as an expert on the economic aspects of Italian transport in the European projects EBSF, 3iBS, ZeEUS, Eliptic, EBSF2, ERSAT-EAV, I-Share LIFE.
