Nicolas Pocard, Director of Marketing has more than 20 years of experience in high technology products sales and marketing at international level. Among his responsibilities, he looks after market strategy, marketing activities and government relations for Ballard. He is a board member of the California Hydrogen Business Council co-chairing the Public Transit group and represents Ballard with various Industry Associations and Government forums.Mr. Pocard holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from ESCOM (Paris) and a Master’s of Science from The Ohio State University (USA).

    Performances of fuel cell electric buses in service

    This session will provide transit agencies and bus operators with latest data on fuel cell electric bus performances.
    There are today over 200 fuel cell electric buses in commercial service worldwide and this number is expected to grown to over 1,000 by 2020.Using data collected over more than 75 hydrogen buses currently in operation in Europe, US and China; we will present the performances of the vehicles and fuel cell power modules including range; availability, durability, fuel consumption and maintenance cost. We will highlight current issues and challenges with the roll-out of fuel cell electric bus fleets including vehicle cost and total cost of ownership. The speech will also review current technology improvements for the next generation of vehicles around durability, total life cycle cost, power density and operating conditions.
