Transition to electric buses in Copenhagen - from trial to full-scale operation

Movia (PTA of Copenhagen) share experiences with transition to electric buses – from small-scale trials, mapping of technical possibilities and costs, pre-tender market dialogue and risk management to zero-emission requirements in tenders for regular bus services. Movia will present results and experiences from the first full-scale tender processes concerning 20 electric buses in the City of Roskilde, and 48 electric buses in the capital area of Copenhagen along with expectations for future tenders. The service in Roskilde will begin in April 2019, and in the central Copenhagen in December 2019. The City of Copenhagen has decided that all their buses must be electric or similar (zero-emission) by 2025, whenever possible.
