Farida Moawad is a Urban Mobility Researcher at the UITP MENA Centre for Transport Excellence. Having joined UITP in 2016, Ms Moawad has researched about public transport stakeholders, strategies, services and projects across MENA countries and cities. She has worked on the UITP MENA Transport Report 2017 and 2019. Currently, Ms Moawad is focusing on the economics of regional public transport operations, and on ridehailing services in MENA. Before that, Ms Moawad supported the GIZ project Energy Efficiency and Climate Change Mitigation in the Land Transport Sector in the ASEAN region, in Thailand. She also has experience working with international development organizations such as UN-Habitat and UNDP. Ms Moawad has an interdisciplinary background with a B.A. in Political Science and Economics (Goethe-Universität Frankfurt), and an M.A. in International Development Studies (Philipps-Universität Marburg).
