Holder of a DEA in Transport Economics from the University of Abidjan, a Certificate in Transport Development Policy (CERTU in PARIS) and the Certificate of Higher Studies in Transport Economics (LET in LYON); MEITE Bouaké, is a public transport enthusiast, he joined SOTRA (Abidjan Transport Company) in 1980, he was successively Head of Operations, Director of bus center, Director of Studies.
From 2006 to 2011, he was Technical Advisor to the Minister of Transport in charge of land transport.
In 2008, he became Vice-President of the Ivorian Committee in charge of setting up the Fund for Financing the Development of the Energy and Transport Sectors of ECOWAS Countries. That same year, he was Chairman of the Management Board of the Railway Investment Fund.
Since April 2011, he has been Managing Director of SOTRA. With the introduction of gas buses in the SOTRA fleet, he plays an important role in implementing the commitment made by the State of Côte d’Ivoire to COP 21.
He is the current President of UATP, elected on May 15, 2017 in Montreal.
