Dr. Marc Andre Klemenz has over 15 years’ experience of transportation planning and railway operation. His key qualifications are operational simulation, operational infrastructure planning and operational concepts for regional, high speed, urban and light rail transportation systems. His career started as a consultant and scientific researcher at the institute of Railway operation in Hanover. After one year at the Planning department of the City of Munich, he was assigned as team leader for Transport and Operational Consulting at DB International.
After project assignments for the Abu Dhabi Metro, Doha Metro, HS2 in the U.K , Suburban railway in Munich and GCC Railway in KSA, he became the director of international projects for the region America. Furthermore, he was operational project manager for several metro, high speed and LRT projects in Germany, South America, Canada, Australia and the Middle East. Since 2018 he is director of Metro and LRT at DB E&C.

10 years Doha Metro: from green field to early operationAfter over 10 years of planning of a metro network in Doha, Qatar, the first trains are in operation.
A long mission with a lot of challenges from the greenfield area to a demand analysis, from a feasibility study to detail design, from construction via testing and commissioning finally to operation now is successfully accomplished. The metro now is ready for the FIFA world cup 2022 and for the people of Qatar. To achieve that a plenty of stakeholder were involved and interfaces and processes has to be solved to get the final approval.
