    World’s first autonomous tram - A report from the perspective of the public transport operator

    Autonomous trams will close the gap between autonomous street traffic and rail traffic. The successful test of the worldwide first au-tonomous tram demonstrated the technical feasibility and gave a glance of the future of light rail schemes. A lot of lessens are learned but one the way to serial readiness a lot of questions have to be solved. The autonomous tram experience in Potsdam encouraged the partners to go forward and investigate the possibilities of an autonomous tram workshop and depot.
