Mr Cheikhou Oumar GAYE studied in France and Senegal, and holds a Master’s degree in Transport and Logistics Mobility Management and in Statistical and Econometric Methods; he also holds a Doctorate in Applied Economics. He was first Head of the Consumer Service in charge of Studies and Statistics at the BDA Institute of Surveys and Market Research of the CCBM group from 2004 to 2007, and then, within CETUD (Executive Council of Urban Transport of Dakar), he was Head of the Urban Transport Observatory Division from 2007 to 2014 and then Director of Operations from 2014 to 2016. From 2016 onwards, he held the position of Director of Road Transport within the Ministry of Infrastructure, Land Transport and Disenclavement. In 2021, he was appointed Director General of the new National Road Safety Agency.
