After careful assessment of the evolving situation in the Gulf region and its impact on international travel, UITP has taken the difficult decision to cancel the 2026 UITP Summit, which was scheduled to take place in Dubai from 21–23 April.
As an organisation that always puts People First, the safety and wellbeing of our delegates, partners, and colleagues is our main responsibility. With many national authorities recommending to avoid non-essential travel to the region, the decision to cancel the 2026 edition has come after careful consideration by UITP’s Executive Board.
UITP maintains a strong and longstanding relationship with our 2026 host, RTA Dubai, who invested tremendous energy, effort and enthusiasm into preparing the Summit. We sincerely thank them for their understanding, continued support and the considerable work undertaken in preparation for what would have been an outstanding event.
UITP has a long history of convening the global public transport community, and we recognise the importance of the Summit to our sector. We will continue to connect and collaborate with our members around the world and are currently exploring alternative opportunities to share key content, facilitate networking and maintain engagement with our community.
