Nicolas Cartier is currently the RATP programme director for Bus2025, which aims to convert RATP’s fleet of 4,700 buses into exclusively green vehicles. Before taking on this role in 2015 he worked in the Transport System Maintenance department. As General Manager he oversaw a staff of 350 to maintain the signalling system of the entire RATP metro and RER rail system. He also served as General Manager of Croix Nivert bus operations in Paris from 2008 to 2011, leading a staff of 650 to operate and maintain seven bus routes and a T3 tramway.
Nicolas Cartier has extensive experience in project management; beginning in 1996 he spent more than a decade working on key projects as a project manager. He was notably involved in rolling out the Navigo pass, the integrated contactless ticketing system, and in promoting innovation and research for other ticketing and passenger-service systems. Over the years, he has provided valuable expertise in IT and network structure.
Cartier is a graduate of École Polytechnique and École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (ENST).
