Jonathan Bray is Director of the Urban Transport Group (UTG) – the federation of transport authorities for Britain’s largest city regions which between them serve around 24 million people. UTG is a professional network that learns from each other and saves money through collaboration, it makes the case for better urban transport and it also provides thought leadership for the sector. Throughout his career Jonathan has been instrumental in changing UK transport policy for the better – from being one of the leaders of the campaign that achieved a fundamental national shift in focus and resources from damaging road schemes to better public transport in the nineties through to winning more effective powers over bus services for cities in 2017. Jonathan is also currently a Visiting Senior Fellow at London School of Economics Cities.
