From customer service to operational excellence

The countdown until 9 June 2019 is on—the next Global Public Transport Summit in Stockholm, Sweden is fast approaching.

As our final Congress programme begins to take shape, you might be wondering, “What’s in it for me?” Let us give you a sneak peek.

Under the theme ‘the Art of Public Transport’, celebrating mobility artists from all facets of our sector, we have defined several key topics that will structure our sessions, presentations and discussions.

Always a hot topic, you will find the topic of customer service excellence well represented in our Congress. Our sessions will include presentations about best practices of public transport operators from around the world, who understand the value of happy staff in their workforce.

Taking customer service to the next level, you will have the opportunity to discover the latest pilot projects in Mobility as a Service (MaaS) and ask questions about how best to integrate new services into your established transport service package.

When taking about the latest technological innovations, you can’t have a Congress that doesn’t have specific sessions dedicated to Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) or artificial intelligence (AI). As leaders in the AV revolution, public transport stakeholders must keep discussing how to introduce this growing new technology in the form as shared fleets, rather than privately owned vehicles.

The use of AI technology, especially as a means of improving operations with predictive maintenance, will be another hot topic of discussion. Sessions on AI fall under the broader umbrella topic of operational excellence, which is impossible to miss on our programme. Also under operational excellence, you can find information and discussion sessions sharing best practices for managing large fleets of electric buses.

Finally, the importance of diversity in the workforce and attracting new talents and skills, will also be included among our biggest talking points of the Congress.

Now that you know what to expect, perhaps you want to know who to expect? Check out some of our speakers that have already confirmed their participation.

We have speakers such as Thierry Mallet, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Transdev Group; Alexandra Reinagl, Chief Financial Officer, Wiener Linien; and Wendy McMillan, Transport for Victoria.
