VTI, SWEDISH NATIONAL ROAD AND TRANSPORT RESEARCH INSTITUTE
VTI, The Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute, is commissioned by the Swedish Government to conduct research and development within the area of transportation. We strive to ensure the achievement of the objectives for transport by continuously improving the knowledge of the transport sector. Our operations cover all modes of transport. VTI has approximately 200 employees. More than half of our employees within research and development have a doctoral or licentiate degree.
Traze: What you see is where you get.
VTI is investigating whether public transport travelers are helped by a user interface based on a live, interactive map, called Livemap, that shows all – but only the actually reachable – travel routes from the user’s origin. The real-time map can be presented either on a nomadic device (phone or tablet) or presented on displays at fixed location in the urban environment.
Livemap is a research project at the Swedish knowledge centre for public transport, K2.
